Description: Curcumin is a yellow pigment extracted from the rhizome of Curcuma longa of the ginger family. It is an acidic polyphenolic substance with an unsaturated aliphatic and aromatic group in the main chain. According to records, the people of the Indian subcontinent have a turmeric-eating history of 5,000 years. Curcumin is now a natural product of great importance to global scientific community.
